About

The audio performance "Still Life" is a promenade through St. Petersburg, where the city transforms into a fragile still life of memory, shadows, and echoes. The audio performance "Still Life. A Guide to the Renamed City" is a theatrical format that combines literature, sound accompaniment, and the living urban environment. It is a site-specific promenade performance inspired by the essays and poems of Joseph Brodsky, including "The Embankment of the Incurables," "One and a Half Rooms," and the poem "Still Life." The audience is invited not just to walk the route along the Fontanka embankment but to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of reflections related to exile, home, personal memory, and urban identity. Each stop along this path is a fragment of life and poetic imagery, where Leningrad and Venice merge into a single space of the lost and the preserved. An important part of the performance is the voice of the narrator - Viktor Klochkо, accompanied by the sound design of Vladimir Mamaev and the music of mader nort. The performance does not require a stage - its scenery is created by the city itself, and the audience becomes part of the action, armed only with headphones, a smartphone, and an attentive gaze.
