The opera "Morozko" by Soviet composer Mikhail Krasev was the first performance of the Natalia Sats Theater. Today, in honor of the theater's 50th anniversary, the opera has been revived in a new quality. The first performance of "Morozko" took place on November 21, 1965. Exactly half a century later, the theater returned to this wonderful work. Of course, this is a different, new production, and the artists and audience will be different as well. But the best, timeless traditions of the world's only opera theater for children remain. The opera "Morozko" was written by Soviet composer Mikhail Ivanovich Krasev, whose work is entirely focused on children. The composer himself was a wunderkind, having written his first opera at the age of 10, and the compositions of 13-year-old Misha Krasev were published and performed by children's groups. Krasev's music is characterized by vivid imagery, poetic quality, humor, and lyricism; it is simple to perceive but not simplistic. It was Krasev who created the genre of children's opera, as there were no operas that could be performed by children themselves before him.
