The audience awaits a series of compromises that unfold behind the scenes of film shooting. The hero of Molière's comedy is an uncomfortable person who says what he thinks, criticizes everything in the world, is intolerant of hypocrisy, and yet manages to fall in love with a socialite. In order for the audience to feel Molière as sharply as in the 17th century, director Ekaterina Polovtseva devised a staging move - she transferred the action to the filming of a movie. The same relationships that exist between the characters of the play arise among the actors on set. The audience is exposed to the fears and anxieties of the artists, sincerity within falsehood, a multitude of disguises and tricks.
