But this story could happen today, as infatuation, passion, and love will never lose their relevance. Mitya is convinced that his love is stronger. He suffers and feels jealous, trying to understand his feelings. Meanwhile, Katya seems to be immersed in the world of art and occupied with something entirely different. To understand what is happening between them, Mitya goes back to his native village, away from the bustling Moscow world. However, Katya's image haunts him everywhere, and he cannot stop thinking about her. Mitya writes passionate letters to the girl every day, but in response, he only occasionally receives brief lines. This play is not Nastavchev's first engagement with Bunin's story. Acting as the author of the adaptation, director, artist, and composer, he reinterprets the work. Bright musical episodes, stage design that makes the characters in the play "fly," color accents-all of this makes the audience reflect on the most important things in life.
