The Theater of Music and Sand transforms ancient legends into a living spectacle: the voice of the narrator guides through the stories of gods and heroes, the academic music of the string quartet supports the drama, and sand animation creates changing images on the screen. The creators use three languages of art at once. The word gives characters to Zeus, Athena, Hercules, and Odysseus, the music of the string quartet adds tension or soft glow, and sand animation paints a whole world before the eyes of the audience, changing right before their eyes from frame to frame. Each episode of the program is built like a small story: the birth of Athena, the gods' dispute over the city, the feats of Hercules, Odysseus's cunning in the battle with the cyclops, scenes of love and jealousy on Olympus - all these plots are connected by emotional details.
