Valery Fokin dedicated his production to the 150th anniversary of the genius director and theater reformer. The foundation is based on real dialogues that took place nearly a hundred years ago: a transcript that was kept during a general meeting of the Meierhold Theater. It took place after the publication of the article "Alien Theater" in the newspaper "Pravda" at the end of 1937. This publication marked the course towards the liquidation of the theater under Meierhold's leadership. At the meeting, the staff and the entire troupe condemned their leader in every way. Complaints, grievances, creative disagreements, and so on were voiced. In addition to documentary materials, the play brings to life the memories of Meierhold himself. From all this arise eternal questions about the complex understanding between the artist and society, about the possibility or impossibility of compromise, about the artist's responsibility to those who have entrusted him.
