What if a meeting with a poet could change an entire city? The play "Mayakovsky. Meeting" is not just a theatrical performance, but a plastic manifesto where myth intertwines with history, and word with movement. The great futurist returns to the Urals in images and feelings to revive hearts once again. "Mayakovsky. Meeting" is a dramatically plastic representation dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Yeltsin Center. It is not a biography of the poet nor a documentary reconstruction, but a poetic reflection on the power of his word and the sudden meeting that never happened. The play refers to Mayakovsky's visit to Sverdlovsk in 1928, reinterpreting it as a myth and as an artistic reality filled with symbols, rhythm, and movement. The action unfolds in an atmosphere of futuristic aesthetics. On stage is the image of a city experiencing a meeting with the Poet through the collective unconscious. The main character is the chairman of the factory union, a romantic and dreamer who believes in the power of words. His anticipation of meeting Mayakovsky grows into a personal revelation and becomes a reflection of the poet. The script includes fragments of poems "Cloud in Trousers", "Flute-Spine", "Man", "The Story of Ivan Kozyrev..." and even an excerpt from Platonov's "The Foundation Pit". The music for the performance was composed by Vsevolod Dorokhov, and the Mexican folk song "La Llorona" will also be performed on stage. Audiences can expect not just a play, but a whole world of images, movements, sounds, and shadows. The project features outstanding artists - Oleg Gabyshev, Vyacheslav Lopatin, Anastasia Stashkevich, and others. Choreography, light, video installations - each element works to create an atmosphere of understanding and experiencing a meeting with a legend. This is a play for those who love theater, poetry, and bold creative experiments. It offers the viewer not answers, but images, not a linear plot, but a journey within oneself - to where the Poet lives. Ideas on where to go in Yekaterinburg are gathered on our website.
