About

A play based on the play by Albert Ramsdell Gurney about two people whose closeness exists in letters. Ekaterina Klimova and Gosha Kutsenko perform a love story that spans years, where confessions, silence, and details of everyday life gradually come together to form a portrait of a relationship. At the heart of the production is the play by Albert Ramsdell Gurney, built on the letters of two people. They live different lives, each going their own way, but continue to tell each other about events, feelings, hopes, and disappointments. Their relationship exists in words, and the letters become the main testimony of the closeness that remains even when a shared life never happened. On stage, this story is performed by Ekaterina Klimova and Gosha Kutsenko. Their characters have known each other since childhood, but the years gradually pull them apart. She is bright, passionate, and emotional; he is determined, smart, and reserved. Between them remains a connection that cannot be measured by distance: each new letter continues the conversation that began many years ago. It is especially interesting how a mid-20th-century play resonates today. Once, letters were a common way to maintain long-distance relationships, and now a similar model of communication exists in messaging and virtual romances. Technology changes, but the desire to have someone to whom you can share your life without abbreviations and unspoken words remains the same.
