Perhaps everyone has a moment in life when they want to throw everything away, turn the course of things completely, change everything. This is also the life situation of the hero of this play. He has achieved a lot, started a family, raised children. And what next? He wants to be young again, to have fun and party. Such behavior portends a lot of trouble… Another brilliant production by director and People's Artist Semyon Spivak. A lot of Ukrainian, Russian, and Jewish folk music is woven into the performance, and the lively dances create an atmosphere of celebration and joy, despite the hero's life troubles. The young cast adds warmth and enthusiasm to the entire performance. Mendel's life is going quite smoothly; he has reached the peak of his life. And the question is: what now? He decides to sell the business, leave his family, and run away with his young lover to warm places. Of course, many are unhappy with this decision - the sons try in every way to prevent their father from realizing his plans, trying to reason with him. Mendel's obsession becomes destructive, turning into pain and causing suffering to those around him. However, the hero manages to pull himself together, to accept reality as it is. Everything is logical. And his life is heading towards sunset. This must be accepted wisely. You can find more performances in St. Petersburg on our website in the theater section.
