An unexpected reading of Shakespeare's tragedy - in a minimalist style and without liters of blood on stage. Evgeny Kamenkovich directed the play in close collaboration with the lead actor Karen Badalov and Yuri Butorin, who played the Duke of Kent. Taking as a basis the translation by Osia Soroka, the directors compared the text with the English original during the work process. If any word in the translation seemed not very accurate for the play, they replaced it with their own version. Thus, it resulted in an even deeper immersion in Shakespeare than would have been the case if they had worked only with the Russian translation. Moreover, the minimalist artistic design by Alexander Borovsky turned out to be ideal for Shakespeare. The eternal themes raised by the great Englishman were illuminated freshly and brightly thanks to the performances of the leading actors of the "Workshop" and simple yet very precise theatrical techniques.
