About

The evening centers around youth, first feelings, and that moment when the world suddenly turns blue and green. Sometimes a single literary text and a few musical voices can bring back the feeling of that very first love, which is hard to explain and impossible to forget. The program is based on Yuri Kazakov's story "Blue and Green," a tale about a teenager who suddenly realizes how fragile and serious the feeling is that changes one’s view of the world. The writer had a way of speaking about simple things so that each detail gains special weight, and the intonation remains quiet and trusting. Director Marina Brusnikina constructs the action as a delicate dialogue between words and music. There are no lavish decorations or external effects on stage - all attention is focused on the text, pauses, and glances. The artistic word is performed by Igor Kostolevsky: his reading style creates the feeling that the hero is sharing his experiences not with the audience, but with a close person. The alternation of storytelling and musical episodes helps to hear the pauses between phrases and feel how the hero's internal state changes from episode to episode. The music for the program was gathered by Yuri Bashmet along with the chamber ensemble "Soloists of Moscow." Here, external virtuosity is not important, but the precision of mood: from barely noticeable tremors to tense anticipation and a soft, almost bright feeling of sadness. The piano solo by Ksenia Bashmet becomes a separate line that comments on what is happening and continues the characters' thoughts where words already seem superfluous. The musical fabric does not literally illustrate the plot but adds additional meanings, allowing each listener to assemble their own story. Where to go in Moscow is known by KudaGo.
