An opera production by Boris Yukhananov in the format of a multimedia procedural installation based on the vocal cycle of the same name by Arnold Schoenberg. In his vocal cycle, Schoenberg reflects on the theme of personal drama - the love between his wife Mathilde and the artist Richard Gerstl. This is the composer’s first attempt to move away from tonal structure to dodecaphony, a new system of organizing sounds. The author seems to observe how the seemingly unshakeable edifice of classical harmony collapses, along with everything that provides support in life - relationships, family, trust, feelings. The creators of the promenade performance preserved the plot of tragic love but did not seek to reflect the real details of Schoenberg's biography. The images recreated on stage correspond more to the verses of songs. The audience follows the characters, shadows, and projections, feeling the key idea of the performance of a shift in the immutable.
