Timur Bekmambetov's puppet show is the first production of this genre on the stage of the Theater of Nations. The light folkloric plot gradually acquires a philosophical sound, allowing a different perspective on familiar things. The famous director and screenwriter Timur Bekmambetov has turned to puppet theater for the first time. He created his production in the style of the Soviet film from 1943 "Nasreddin in Bukhara." The director himself has loved this fairy tale character since childhood - the cunning and resourceful Khoja, who found a way out of any situation while remaining true to himself and his conscience. In the performance, the story is told from the perspective of a donkey - Nasreddin's loyal friend, whose last wish was to become a human. The production combines humor and reflections on freedom, love, and human weaknesses. During the performance, puppeteers work with the puppets, and their voices are provided by leading actors of theater and cinema: Evgeny Mironov, Konstantin Khabensky, Viktor Verzhbitsky, Igor Zolotovitsky, Chulpan Khamatova, Elizabeth Boyarskaya, and Inga Oboldina.
