The play based on the eponymous story by Anton Chekhov was directed by Oleg Dolin. "Ionich" is a story about how a person loses their aspirations, enthusiasm, and with them, their real life. For Chekhov, real life is impossible without love for one's work or for another person. In a case where neither is present, a person simply fades away slowly. This happened to Dmitry Ionich Starcev - a young doctor who first falls in love and then becomes disillusioned with the object of his feelings. The story of how easily one can lose the main meanings was directed by Oleg Dolin. This is his second play at the Vakhtangov Theatre after "The Night Before Christmas".
