The main character, Millie, is 50, and her beloved, to whom she dedicated 10 years of her life, has just left her. As a child, Millie dreamed of happiness and made a wish on a falling star. Decades later, she remains as childishly touching, but the promised joy and bliss have somehow disappeared. From her relationship with her departed lover, she is left with only memories of outings to local cafes and the cinema, and beside her are other strange and lonely people like herself. What will Millie do? She will throw a party, where she will have fun, say goodbye to pain and grievances, turn everything upside down, and start anew. Because this is her life.
