The play "Auntie's Dream" based on Dostoevsky's story - a rather unique anecdote for the stage - was directed by Ekaterina Granitova. Audiences can expect dynamic action, a kaleidoscope of vibrant characters, colorful costumes - and this is not all the merits of the production. An old prince decides to visit the provincial town where Marya Moskaleva lives. He hasn't been in these parts for a long time. The clever mistress of the estate, Marya Alexandrovna, immediately decides that she needs to marry off her beautiful young daughter to the old prince, in order to give her a chance to escape from the backwoods, even if in this way. Moskaleva, played by Olga Prokofyeva, is elegant, lively, and young. In her desire to arrange her daughter's marriage to the half-crazy old prince, she dreams of a beautiful life for herself as well. All her youth has passed in a dull provincial town, and now she wants to get a second chance. And she will not allow her Zinaida to repeat her own fate, becoming a provincial lady dreaming of Petersburg. Zinaida initially resists her mother's idea, but soon agrees, as this is the only opportunity to escape the remote province. Everything would be fine, however, even despite all the courtship from Zinaida, the half-crazy prince ultimately decides that everything happening is nothing more than a simple dream...
