What to do when it starts to seem that life has been lived in vain - this is what the characters of the play, directed by the young director and composer Evgeny Serzin, ponder. Uncle Vanya is not the main character here; the focus is more on all the others. Retired professor Serebryakov has fallen into depression due to the end of his career. His young wife, Elena Andreevna, wants to help her husband but suffers from unrequited love for Dr. Astrov, whom the professor's daughter, Sonya, has long loved in vain. Dr. Astrov himself is drawn to Elena Andreevna like a magnet, and the same happens with Ivan Petrovich (Uncle Vanya). All these unrequited or unrealized feelings intensify the internal conflicts of the characters and their dissatisfaction with life. From this arises the thought that time has been wasted, and happiness is unattainable. Can anything be fixed in such a situation - this is what the creators of the production reflect on.
