The novel by one of the classics of "village prose" Vasily Aksyonov was staged by Murat Abulkatinov. High school student Oleg falls in love for the first time, and his beloved is a girl Tanya from the neighboring village. The story of their relationship unfolds against the backdrop of other events in Oleg's life: a tragic story with a friend, feelings for another girl, betrayal. The director tried to preserve in the play the sense of nostalgia for youth embedded in Aksyonov's work. In the play, as in the novel, feelings are presented in their extreme manifestations. The stage creates an atmosphere of rural life in the 1970s, images from the Old Testament intertwine in the main character's consciousness with the poetry of Pushkin, and the actors convey the peculiarities of the language of the residents of the Krasnoyarsk region.
