A production based on an early story by Evgeny Zamyatin - a metaphorical act and almost an opera, where the earth and everything related to it comes to the forefront. Zamyatin wrote during a difficult, transformative time, trying to comprehend the events taking place. The story from 1915, which serves as the basis for the play, is early prose by an author who grew up in one country but was essentially writing in another. At the center of the story is the peasant woman Afinya, who lives anything but an idyllic life married to the unloved Pyotr, who is much older than her. Zamyatin was concerned with themes of love and passion, men and women, the fear of death, fertile land from which everything is born and to which everything returns. The play was created in a laboratory dedicated to writers of the first half of the last century. See even more plays on our website in the theater section.
