Absurd realism is a brief way to describe Dmitry Danilov's play, who debuted in the dramaturgy of a contemporary Russian prose writer and poet. A few months after its publication, "The Man from Podolsk" will premiere on stage for the first time - the premiere of the first play based on Danilov will take place in May at "Theater.doc". The setting of the play is a Moscow police station where eccentric intellectuals have gathered. The usual police tortures are replaced by a more sophisticated trial: the "residents" are given a monstrous questionnaire, after which a person cannot escape the feeling of overwhelming emptiness and their own worthlessness. The first directors to take on "The Man from Podolsk" are two-time Golden Mask laureate, the artistic director of "Dok-a" Mikhail Ugarov and his colleague in documentary theater, Igor Stam.
