About

Actor and author of the play's idea, Semyon Sytnik, takes the audience back to the blockade years when Alexandrinka literally saved lives. During the blockade, more than two hundred people, including actors and other theater staff, lived in the Alexandrinsky Theatre building. The play is based on the records of artist Nikolai Levitsky, who was appointed the commandant of the building, as well as materials from the theater's archive and the memories of contemporaries. The audience will hear the true story of that difficult time and the life of Alexandrinka. The play takes place in the Actor's Foyer - an intimate space designed for twenty spectators.
