Not a fairy tale story based on the tale by Hans Christian Andersen. Andersen's tale about the ugly duckling is not so fairy-tale-like. After all, there is nothing mysterious about the fact that the duckling grows up and changes over time. There is much more philosophical subtext in this story than magic. The main character finds himself in an alien environment, where everyone perceives him through their own clichés, and he himself internalizes that he was born "with a defect", growing up lonely and misunderstood... The directors of the play decided to focus on the existential problem of the tale - the problem of human existence and self-perception. The duckling one day sees a swan, bending over the water, and does not immediately realize that it is he. But does this always happen in real life, and how does one survive if the miracle does not happen and the reflection remains an "ordinary duck"? The children's theater raises questions that are not childlike and discusses them in the language of synthetic theater.
