The main literary fabricator and fantasist will appear in a puppet version. Baron von Munchausen, whose adventures are dedicated to the novel by Rudolf Erich Raspe, is a fictional character, but not entirely. His prototype was the real Munchausen, who served for fifteen years in the cavalry of the Russian Empire and participated in the Russo-Turkish War of 1735-1739. The baron was also known as an excellent storyteller. The literary image of Munchausen began to take shape even before it was crafted by the English novelist Raspe: four years before the book's release, sixteen stories were published in a Berlin magazine, signed by the author as "M-H-G-N." The production by director Ekaterina Obraztsova, with music by the famous composer Alexander Zatsepin, will provide a new perspective on the adventures of the legendary baron. The hero will engage in a battle with a lion, a crocodile, and a boar, and then set off for the Moon! You can find even more performances on our website in the theater section.
