A musical play based on the play by Akcentiy Tsagareli "Khonuma" with new songs and dialogues written for the MHT. The action takes place in Avlabar, one of the oldest districts of the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. The elderly prince Vaso decides to get married but refuses the help of the matchmaker Khonuma. Khonuma's pride is hurt, and from that moment everything around begins to shake. Intrigues, passions, absurd situations - and all this with music! "Khonuma" is well known in the adaptation of playwrights Ratser and Konstantinov, who rewrote the play specifically for the Leningrad BDT, where it was staged by Georgy Tovstonogov. But on the MHT stage, the audience is in for a completely new performance. The translation of the play for the MHT was done by Nina Shaduri, and it includes bright fresh dialogues.
