A play about Mozart and Salieri, where the focus is on the battle for love. In the stage version by Sergey Plotov, Salieri swears to God to live righteously and chaste in exchange for the chance to remain in eternity. He believes that God agrees to this deal, but then he encounters him - Mozart. The talent of this bold and reckless young man is so great that Salieri realizes: he has been deceived. God, unlike the devil (as in the case of Faust), does not make deals. Salieri is punished: his whole life he must recognize the meagerness of his talent compared to Mozart's genius. No matter what he does, Mozart will remain in the ages, not him. Then Salieri declares the deal void and decides to destroy Mozart. See more plays on our website in the theater section.
