Music, text, and archival cinema come together in a single stage action about space and human imagination. It is a story about a signal from beyond and the desire to respond to it. The production by Evgenia Boginskaya combines several formats: a concert, a reading, and a film screening based on the novel by Alexei Tolstoy. The project is realized by musician Vladimir Rozanov and actress Alina Korol. During the performance, fragments of the silent film of the same name from 1924 are shown, while live music performed on the accordion and piano is accompanied by texts from the book, scientific notes about space, improvisations, and reflections. At the center of attention is the idea of contact: mysterious signals that scientists receive as a possible message from Mars. These sounds become the starting point for a journey-both physical and internal-where imagination, science, and personal experience merge into a single line.
