Central Scotland based Slyder Smith comes to DreadnoughtRocks for the first time with a new look 4-piece outfit featuring Brian Kerr now on guitar, Kevin Skelly on bass & backing vocals & John McAvoy on drums. UK rock artist Slyder Smith & his band deliver gritty, melodic rock driven by raw emotion and hook-laden guitar work. First gaining recognition as guitarist and backing vocalist with cult power-pop outfit Last Great Dreamers, Slyder has since forged his own path with acclaimed work including his album Charm Offensive and recent singles ‘Nobody’s Listening’, ‘Plan To Fail’ & ‘Killing The Machine’. ALSO JOINING in the fun are a brand new band BUT features a couple of familiar faces THE WAXING QUARTER. Lush, expansive alt-rock from the long grass of Scotland's eastern shores. The Waxing Quarter, hailing from East Lothian in Scotland, began life as a collaboration of multi-instrumentalist songwriters and producers John Ferguson, Iain Bruce and Liam Clark. With 2025’s eponymous debut album under their belt, the trio expanded their ranks in pursuit of fully-fledged and uncompromised live performance.
