The series of archival screenings will gather the acting and directing works of Alexander Kaidanovsky - from tense dramas to phantasmagorical films that were ahead of their time. All films will be shown on 35mm film from the collection of the State Film Fund. Alexander Kaidanovsky remains one of the most unsettling and captivating figures in domestic cinema. His characters often seem to exist on the edge: between calmness and inner rebellion, between ordinary life and the impossibility of fitting into it. The program collects different sides of his journey. Audiences will see his acting works in the films "The Fourth", "The Lost Expedition", "Golden River", "The Turn", "The Rescuer", and "The Tale of an Unknown Man". Here, Kaidanovsky appears in a political drama, an adventure diptych, an adaptation of Chekhov, and intimate stories about moral choice, guilt, danger, and inner freedom.
