The seminar will reveal current philosophical approaches to understanding religious life. Doctor of Philosophy K. M. Antonov will discuss the interaction of religion, theology, philosophy, and religious studies, as well as present his recently published monograph. How do religion, theology, philosophy, and religious studies relate to each other? What forms of understanding religious life are possible today, and how do they relate to scientific and philosophical knowledge? Answers to these questions will be offered during the seminar conducted by Doctor of Philosophy, Professor at PSTGU K. M. Antonov. The presentation is based on ideas outlined in the author's monograph published in 2025 by PSTGU. Participants will examine religious studies as part of church science, learn where the boundary lies between theology and the philosophy of religion, and whether a productive dialogue is possible between various worldview and confessional positions. Additionally, questions of the scientific nature of theology, relationships with marginal religious movements, as well as the role and status of the Orthodox university in modern education and science will be addressed.
