The seminar will explore how the Christmas story is structured, what makes its magic, and why it continues to touch hearts. Participants will try their hand at being an author and create their own mini-story. Christmas stories are a special literary genre that has not lost its relevance over two centuries. These short tales invariably return in winter days, reminding us that miracles are possible even in the most ordinary circumstances. Their heroes journey from indifference and loss to light and hope, while readers are led to believe in a better future. The seminar at the M. Yu. Lermontov Library is designed for those who want to understand the secret of Christmas stories and learn to create them independently. Participants will learn how the genre is structured, what mandatory elements it contains, which themes are most often addressed, and why they resonate. The discussion will cover not only the traditions of the 19th century but also how modern literature continues this line. The final part of the meeting will be a creative workshop. Each participant will receive a topic and try to write a short Christmas episode. This is a great opportunity not only to learn something new but also to experience inspiration in the cozy atmosphere of the Classics Hall.
