About

A free ice rink, light show, "Alley of Magical Lanterns" and other entertainment await Muscovites and guests of the capital at Sparrow Hills. One of the main winter spaces of Moscow has opened here and will operate until February 28. The territory of the Pioneer Palace has turned into a winter fairy tale. An open-air ice rink, a Christmas market, creative laboratories, and the first restaurant of Moscow colleges have appeared here. The free ice rink occupies 4,000 square meters. Thanks to the artificial ice surface, it can operate even in positive temperatures. Skates and penguin helpers for children can be rented upon request. In addition, a cozy cafe is located in the rental area. Every evening, a colorful multimedia show will take place on the site. Light, music, and projections will create an atmosphere of New Year wonders. In the center of the site, a legendary fire "burns"; it is now an art installation connecting the history of the Pioneer Palace with the modern urban landscape. Visitors will also find the "Alley of Magical Lanterns," where they can make New Year wishes and take atmospheric photos. At the Christmas market, one can find New Year and Christmas souvenirs created by college students - lamps, dishes, postcards, decorations, and more. Here, you can also enjoy hot Belgian waffles, trdelniks, and warm drinks. Inside the Pioneer Palace, creative laboratories for children and adults have opened. Here, you can create New Year decorations by hand, assemble a terrarium, work with clay, and sew a felt toy. After a walk, it's the perfect time to stop by the cafe. The first restaurant of Moscow colleges has opened in the Pioneer Palace. The menu was developed by the students themselves, featuring both classics and signature dishes. Young chefs prepare them under the guidance of their mentors. Throughout the winter, culinary master classes will be held at the restaurant for everyone interested. Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow government for social development: "We tried to make this space accessible to everyone."
