About

What did the heroes of the Age of Classicism look like? What music did they listen to? This engaging program connects academic art with the fashion of past centuries - in an interactive form that is accessible to children and interesting to adults. The concert series "Music and Fashion," held in the chamber hall of the Capella, invites children and parents to immerse themselves in the cultural context of past centuries. In each concert, musicologist Larisa Efimova uses music and visual materials to tell about the styles, trends, and aesthetics of different eras. This is not just an introduction to composers, but a real journey through time, where academic music becomes the key to understanding history and art. The third level of the subscription is intended for those who are already familiar with the previous levels of the program. It is designed for listeners over seven years old and includes more complex and in-depth material. The concert "With a Wig and Without It" is dedicated to the Age of Classicism - a time when style, form, and symmetry held special significance in both music and fashion. Audiences will be shown excerpts from the works of great composers of the 18th century, as well as a visual array of costumes, portraits, and everyday objects. This format helps children better understand the environment in which the heroes of those years lived and created, why they wore such outfits, and how music reflected the worldview of the time. We share ideas on where to go in St. Petersburg this weekend.
