Children will get acquainted with Nenets culture through a fairy tale, play, and theatrical improvisation. It is especially important for children to learn about culture not theoretically, but through action and play. This activity is designed exactly that way. The focus will be on Nenets folklore with its special attention to nature and the animal world. The kids will learn who the Nenets are and why their culture is so closely connected to the environment. Through fairy tale plots, children will be able to see what place animals occupy in their world, how stories reflect perceptions of life in the North, and why folk folklore helps to better understand people. The program is based on methods of theatrical improvisation and socio-playful learning style. Children will not just listen to the host, but will engage in the process: reading, observing, performing sketches and small scenes. The activity will help develop imagination, speech, attention, and self-confidence. The activity is suitable for children aged 5-8. The host, Svetlana Kazakova, is an educator and a specialist at RGBM working with children. Where to go with a child in Moscow, look for on our website.
