Children will hear the legend of the river fairy and the knight, peek into ancient books, listen to poems by Heinrich Heine, and try their hand at theatrical improvisation. The session for children aged five to eight gently combines reading, play, and imagination. Together with the host, the children will get acquainted with the romantic story of the beautiful Lore and the knight, discuss the mysteries of the Rhine, and learn where the image of the mysterious Lorelei in the legend comes from. At the beginning, the children will see ancient editions of German fairy tales from the library's collection, listen to excerpts from "Legends of the Middle Ages" retold by Sofia Prokofyeva and Vera Markova, as well as poems by Heinrich Heine. The program will continue with a theater of imagination. The children will learn to control their voice and body, listen to their partner on stage, and make decisions in the moment. At the end, all participants will take part in small theatrical sketches based on the legend. Someone will become a knight, someone will be the voice of the river, and someone will be the wind over the cliff. The host will offer interesting and emotional tasks, such as whispering, depicting a wave, or stopping the scene on "pause." Parents will be able to observe and support their child, and then continue the theme at home: reread the legend, come up with an alternative ending, sculpt figures of the heroes from clay, or build a mini-model of the cliff and river from available materials.
