About

The presentation of the book "Circles of Kaproma" is an attempt to seriously discuss the legacy of post-Soviet capitalism architecture. The authors - ranging from architects to urbanists - will immerse guests in the atmosphere of the 90s and 2000s, filled with glass facades, VIP houses, and dreams of the era. What did dream architecture look like in post-Soviet Russia? What lies behind the facades of glass business centers, residential complexes with columns, and mysterious pension fund buildings? The book "Circles of Kaproma" from the TATLIN publishing house offers an understanding of the visual language and aesthetics of the 1990s and 2000s - a time when luxury met naivety, and capitalism met romanticism. At the book presentation, its authors - architect Daniil Veretennikov, art historian Alexander Semyonov, and urbanist Gavriil Malyshev - will speak. All of them are participants in the well-known educational projects "Klizma of Romanticism" and "Airy Izbas," which guarantees an original, deep, and lively perspective on the material. Guests will hear reflections on the iconic residential complex "Aurora," facade chic, glass loggias, tinted cars, and other visual markers of the time. The book "Circles of Kaproma" is an attempt to capture the fading aesthetics, often rejected, but still etched in collective memory. And at the presentation, everyone will have the opportunity to participate in the discussion.
