The cult trilogy will be shown in the original language with subtitles. The retrospective is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the master's death; the films will be presented by film scholar Mila Dvinyatina. Krzysztof Kieślowski is one of the most famous Polish directors. His "Color Trilogy" has had a huge impact on the history of world cinema. According to the director's concept, each part of the trilogy is dedicated to a specific color of the French flag. The blue color symbolizes freedom, so the first part tells us the story of liberation. The main character of the film, Julie, has survived a terrible accident, lost her beloved husband and daughter in it, and is trying to return to life. The white color signifies equality. In the second part of the trilogy, the director tells the story of a Polish hairdresser named Dominik, who devises a cunning plan to take revenge on his wife after their divorce. The red color reflects the idea of brotherhood. In the final film of the trilogy, we witness two stories about strangers and their fateful encounters.
