About

Paul Faith is a songwriter who captivates audiences with little more than a guitar, harmonica, and explosive vocals. A Virginia native and 14-year New Orleans local, he draws on 90s grunge, pop alternative rock, and the folk rock of Dylan and Young, crafting Americana songs dressed in indie/alternative rock clothing. With his backing band, The Barstool Prophets, he's released two albums since 2024: The Smell When It Rains and OH WELL, and is set to release a third this fall, All Will Be Made. Beyond gigging regularly around greater New Orleans, Paul is deeply embedded in the city's songwriter community. For three years he's hosted The Living Room, a songwriter night at Skeeta Hawk Brewery on Fridays, and he produced a compilation album of new original protest songs written and recorded by 21 different New Orleans artists. St. Claude Serenaders were born after Hurricane Katrina in a bluegrass picking session inside an 8th Ward barroom. Led by the tight fingerwork of guitarists Geoff Coats and Mike Kerwin, the Serenaders create a unique, toe-tapping sound that's part country, part Americana and roots-with a distinct Louisiana flavor. That easy southern sound is apparent on the Serenaders' new EP Ursulines Nones in dancehall numbers like Milk Cow Blues and ballads like the wistful My Louisiana Home. And it's that home-Louisiana-more than any one genre, that seems to root the Serenaders, serving as the band's compass and muse. Their engaging live shows move from country to city, from Honky Tonk to House Party. But whether playing Leadbelly or Longhair or one of their original songs, the Serenaders' nuanced interpretations and retellings conjure up their home. "Whether we're playing as a string band on Royal Street or with Telecasters blazing in a local bar," Coats says, "we want people to feel the soul of Louisiana in the music of the Saint Claude Serenaders."
