The opening of the XX Moscow International Festival "Virtuosos of Guitar" will unite leading performers and the E. F. Svetlanov Orchestra under the direction of Fabio Mastrangelo. This evening will feature world and Russian premieres, as well as major works for guitar ensembles, piano, viola, and symphony orchestra. The opening of the XX Moscow International Festival "Virtuosos of Guitar" will be a large-scale concert featuring musicians representing different performing traditions and approaches to guitar art. The program is built around compositions that demonstrate the capabilities of the instrument in conjunction with the symphony orchestra: from chamber dialogues to expansive ensemble structures. The evening opens with premieres - a concert by Di Marino and a piece by Pereira, performed for the first time in Russia. Both compositions expand the palette of the modern repertoire and highlight the timbral expressiveness of the guitar. The duo Cecilia Siqueira - Fernando Lima will present an interpretation of Pereira created specifically for them. Their interaction is based on subtle rhythmic exchanges and flexible lines that form a unified sound space. The concert will also feature soloists well-known to the public: Artyom Dervoyed, Dmitry Illarionov, Rovshan Mamedkuliyev, Roman Zorykin, and Nikita Nedelko. Each performer brings an individual style to the program, allowing the instrument to be heard in various thematic and emotional contexts. The viola part will be performed by Maxim Novikov, and at the keyboard will be Ksenia Bashmet. The Fantasy by Castelnuovo-Tedesco for guitar and piano with orchestra demonstrates the connection between chamber expressiveness and the scale of symphonic sound. The "Iberian" concert by Torroba continues the line of ensemble works and reveals the possibilities of four guitars within a rich orchestral texture. The E. F.
