Jacques Offenbach's operetta based on Daniel Defoe's novel is presented for the first time on the Russian stage. The operetta, which premiered in 1867 in Paris, quickly gained popularity in Europe and then across the ocean. However, it has not been staged in Russia until today. To correct this injustice, the MAMT decided to present it. The performance is in Russian, and the text of the dialogues and arias was created at the theater's request. The plot of Defoe's cult novel is interpreted quite freely in Offenbach's operetta. After Robinson finds himself on the island, his fiancée sets out to find him. In the end, a very diverse company finds themselves in the jungles in the middle of the ocean, getting into amusing situations.
