On stage are two young lovers, two devoted girls, the cynical philosopher Don Alfonso, and the quick-witted maid Despina. Bets on fidelity, disguises as "Albanians", a scene of "poisoning", false wedding ceremonies - all of this comes together in a brilliant musical performance where each character becomes a participant in a grand prank. Especially expressive are the arias of Fiordiligi and Dorabella, touching and ironic at the same time, demonstrating the depth of feelings and the conflict between reason and heart.
