Director Vladimir Kekhman presents an authorial interpretation of Giuseppe Verdi's opera. For his debut in the opera genre, Kekhman chose the famous work by Verdi. In his original vision, it transformed into the story of a Russian ballerina forced to choose between art, love, and money. The events of the performance are set in the difficult and pivotal years of the 20th century for the country. The main character, Margarita, has been passionate about ballet since childhood, but 1917 changes everything. The dancer flees abroad, where she begins her artistic journey anew. But the hardships do not end there. It turns out that life in Europe is completely different, the audience is different, and even a house in Capri does not bring happiness. Margarita's lover turns out to be a scoundrel, and gradually there is no one left in her circle to support her. How can she now live without means, without love, and, most importantly, without the stage? The performance features baritone Sergey Leiferkus.
