During the New Year holidays, the Boris Eifman Dance Academy Theater will once again host the beloved ballet performance "Eared Stories" directed by Svyatoslav Melnikov. Most of the cast of this bright, kind, and intelligent ballet show consists of children aged 11 and older. The young performers demonstrate true professionalism and perform on stage no worse, and even better than adults. "Eared Stories" invites us into a fantasy world inhabited by cute humanoid creatures with rabbit ears. Everything seems perfect there, yet heavy illnesses and the torments of loneliness exist. One of those who succumbed to the oppressive sadness is the eared boy Bob. But one random letter compels the hero to challenge his ailment and set out to help a seriously ill girl, to light a festive lantern for her. Along the way, he faces many trials and temptations, but only by being willing to sacrifice himself can he conquer the darkness. The production carries deep philosophical meanings and raises important themes such as caring for family, self-sacrifice for love, and faith in the Christmas miracle. The unique atmosphere of the performance is enhanced by stunning multimedia 3D decorations, projections, special effects, carefully crafted character images, and spectacular dances. The musical arrangement of the performance features bright works of classical, neoclassical, and electronic music. Hundreds of props, each handcrafted by artists, are used in the show.
