Only once a year does it happen that more than 140 museums, theaters, libraries, and other cultural spaces remain open at the end of the day and hold an event for lovers of beauty. This year it will take place from May 16 to 17. Exhibitions, master classes, performances, concerts, and other activities in non-stop mode are the main charm of the "Night of Museums". The event, which has already become a good St. Petersburg tradition, will take place this year on the night of May 16 to 17. The overall theme of this year is "Native", but each museum could determine its own sub-theme. The venues will prepare special programs: one-day exhibitions, concerts, performances, author tours, master classes, and historical reconstructions. Some St. Petersburg spaces will share their experiences from 18:00 to 23:00. Participants will include ROSPHOTO, the Russian Ethnographic Museum, the Theater "Na Liteynom", the Bread Museum, the Kirov Central Park of Culture and Leisure, the Sergey Kuryokhin Center for Contemporary Art, the icebreaker "Krasin", "Lenfilm", the Griboedov Library, and more. Other venues will remain open from six in the evening until six in the morning. Among them are the Planetarium, the Anna Akhmatova Museum, the Museum of Railways of Russia, the Peter and Paul Fortress, the Republic of Cats, and the Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg. This year you can purchase a ticket for five (900 rubles), three (750 rubles), or one museum (400 rubles) and choose the sessions right away. We have highlighted the most interesting events for you to visit. You can find the detailed schedule on the official website.
