In 2022-2024, the hit musical "Don't Be Afraid, I'm with You!" became a cult phenomenon: about 1,200,000 people watched it - this is an officially registered theatrical record*. At the numerous requests of the audience, the company "Broadway Moscow" returned the performance to the stage of the MDM Theater - but, unfortunately, for a limited run. We explain why the production featuring 20 songs by the legendary band "Secret" must be seen in these few months. The plot of the musical unfolds in Leningrad in the 80s. The audience will be transported to the romantic atmosphere of the city on the Neva with its white nights, drawbridges, rooftops, apartment gatherings, and informal culture. But amidst this beauty, not everything is straightforward: there will be a generational conflict, a difficult choice, and an inability to come to terms with systemic hypocrisy. The performance is filled with poignant moments, incredible coincidences, and comedic situations. And there is nothing surprising about this - after all, the events unfold in a city where anything is possible. Dmitry Bogachyov, producer, founder of the theater company "Broadway Moscow": "Among musical performances of hits, or 'jukebox musicals', the most famous and successful is Mamma Mia!. After I staged it in Russia and understood how it works, I decided to take a risk, and together with a team of top-notch professionals, we created our own original jukebox musical. The songs of 'Secret' organically woven into the plot became its musical foundation, and thanks to new arrangements and a theatrical, rather than concert-style performance, the audience discovers them anew. Our performance is not about leaders or heroes, but about simple young people who happened to live in an era of change and gaining freedom. They fall in love, take actions, believe, make mistakes, and are not afraid to speak the truth to each other and those around them. I would very much like our musical, filled with drive, youthful energy, and fresh air, to become a refuge for someone in today's difficult reality." The songs of the band "Secret" have experienced a rebirth, coming to replace the musical.
