The performance by Maria Kobzar is dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Ivan Bunin's birth. The play is based on four stories that reflect the deeply psychological poetic world of the author. The director of the play is Tamara Kocherzhinskaya, who connected four stories by Ivan Bunin: "Antonov Apples", "Tanya", "Light Breathing", and "Sunstroke". The immersion into Bunin's poetics is aided by the music of composer Evgeny Borts, the work of costume designer Svetlana Tegin, and the director of the black-and-white video sequence Elena Medina. The performance is executed by actress Maria Kobzar. The audience will follow through four stories that reflect different facets of Ivan Bunin's literary gift. "Antonov Apples" immerses one in a poignant nostalgia for beauty and a vanishing culture. The story "Tanya" narrates a tragic love that turns several months into a whole life. In "Light Breathing", the writer's talent to speak simply and briefly about all-encompassing things is manifested - it is a story about a terrible and paradoxical event, but at the same time about the triumph of life. In the story "Sunstroke", there are intonations of irony and farce, discussing love that can become unbearable if a person is not yet ready for it. Angelika Varum, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation: "In my life, there were only two episodes that made my brain, overwhelmed by the flow of information, stop at Bunin. The first time was when I watched Alexei Uchitel's film 'The Diary of His Wife'. And the second time was when I attended Maria Kobzar's monologue..." For more details, visit the official website.
