Author's documentary films from 30 countries will be showcased at the "Docker" festival. This year, the program includes 80 films, with the main theme being what we may lose: traditions, homeland, identity, inner freedom, as well as the very concept of time. The festival once again aims to prove that documentary cinema is a living art that offers a comprehensive view of reality and formulates a new language. Thanks to the festival, the audience can experience what seemed distant and foreign, and look at their own lives in a new way. Premieres will be accompanied by meetings with directors, heroes, and members of the film crews. The program will open with the film "Even If We Are Islands" by Cristina Rodriguez Pa, dedicated to Spanish lighthouses and their keepers, memory, solitude, and human connections. The main competition features 12 films. Despite the diversity of characters, they are united by the question of how not to lose connection with home, loved ones, and oneself when the familiar state of affairs collapses. Each tries to solve it in their own way. The heroes of the film "Sunny Bay" (Israel) live in a trailer among luxury hotels, trying to start anew. The Mexican film "The Village of Boca Vieja" tells about the residents of a village that is flooded year after year, while the heroine of the film "At a Distance of Memory" observes her parents in another country through cameras installed in their home. A separate line is dedicated to women whose lives were regulated long before their birth. This is told in the films "Her Territory" (India), "Berona" (Turkey), and "Bulakna" about the women of the Philippines. The films "Lunch" (Guatemala) and "Winter Has Come" (Iran) show adult reality through the experiences of children. Two more films - "No Shadow of Weakness" (France) and "On the Edge. From a Travel Diary" (Russia, directed by Sergey Karandashov) discuss men whose profession has become a calling and at the same time a test for their relationships with family. In the short film competition, 12 films are also submitted. Russia is represented by "Cave of Dreams" by Marina Levashova about work and life.
