The poetry of the "Uktus School" will serve as material for a lively conversation about metamorphoses, paradoxes, and the freedom of the author's gesture. Participants will read texts from the magazine "Number" and samizdat books, discuss the transformation of the poet into a performer, and together check which experiments from the Sverdlovsk underground can inspire today. The poetic experiments of the participants of the "Uktus School" are difficult to separate from their artistic and performative practices. A poem could turn into an action, a reading into a joint experiment, and the author could change their usual role and become a performer. In the mediation, visitors will explore how this mobility shaped a unique language of the Sverdlovsk underground. At the center of the conversation will be texts published in the magazine "Number" and samizdat books. They will help to see how the Uktus people worked with words, violated expected logic, connected serious statements with irony, and turned paradox into a creative method. Participants will be able to discuss specific fragments and compare them with works, documents, and materials from the exhibition.
