Young designers will learn to give things a second life - they will decorate clothes with appliqués, fabrics, and threads, inspired by a work of contemporary art. The masterclass awakens ecological thinking, teaches to create freely, caring for the surrounding world and expressing oneself through upcycling. Contemporary art can be closer than it seems - especially when it can be touched, understood, and transformed into one's own creation. The masterclass "Second Life for Old Things" invites teenagers to look at fashion and ecology through the lens of creativity. The inspiration for the session will be the installation Green Mind by Kazan artist Zuhra Salakhova. Her textile panel "Ant Hill" is made from threads, fabrics, and clothes in which she lived and created. It is not just an art object, but a living story of how humans and nature can coexist in harmony. During the masterclass, teenagers will learn what upcycling is and how to create something new, stylish, and unique from old clothes. Simple techniques - appliqués, decoration, cutting - help to look at unnecessary things in a new way and see their potential. Each participant will bring their item that they want to transform, and all necessary materials for decoration will be provided by the organizers.
