Scientific knowledge in chemistry today allows for the creation of millions of shades - such a possibility did not exist for humanity in the past. Schoolchildren and their parents are invited to explore the chemistry of color and light in practice. The "Family Day" masterclass series is a joint immersion into science for children and parents, an opportunity to spend a weekend together engaging in an exciting activity, enjoying communication, and gaining new knowledge. This time, guests of the masterclass will learn about color theory. The instructor will explain why different substances have different colors and how color can change under the influence of temperature. Then, participants will conduct exciting experiments using real chemical equipment: they will color iodine vapors, obtain pigment from lead, change the color of fire, and even see how inert gases glow. Everyone will feel like a lab technician. Participants are asked to arrive on time for the group gathering, which starts 20 minutes before the class in the museum lobby. Details can be found on the official website.
