About

Children aged 6-9 and their dads will dive into the history of clocks and timekeeping. The master class will take place on the -1 floor of the "ATOM" museum, in Newton's Garden. Here, participants will find answers to important scientific questions: when and why were hourglasses invented, can we today tell the time using the sun and sand, what role does atomic energy play in clocks? This and more will be explained by Maria Rosenberg, a lecturer at the Russian University of Transport. During the practical part, children and parents will create sundials and will be able to tell the time with them. Then they will see how accurate they are compared to atomic clocks. Participants will gather for the master class in the lobby of the "ATOM" museum from 10:40 to 10:55. To enter the museum without waiting in line, you need to show the staff your registration.
